What is an American Saddlebred you ask ?

Over 250 years of selective breeding have given us a beautiful all purpose riding horse.

Many people around the world know this horse as the peacock of the show ring , a beautiful high stepping proud horse, but this breed is more than that.

The American Saddlebred is a wonderful athlete ,a versatile and talented breed. Long before "classical dressage" became popular in the US ,saddlebreds were stars of "high school" dressage .

Nowdays the saddlebred is finding a new place in modern FEI disciplines, with many of the breed competing along side the more traditional breeds with success.

Purebred and partbred saddlebreds have been competing successfully in many disciplines here in Australia. Several saddlebreds have been exported for endurance and many are competing here ,showing they have what it takes.

Saddlebreds are also competing in eventing,showjumping and dressage  around the country every week.

Harness or dressage , showjumping or endurance, ponyclub or trail riding consider an American Saddlebred.
